DEP is continuing the same strategy its affiliate organization, Mitchell Energy Advisors, LLC (“MEA”) has been focused on since inception in 2003 except for the replacement of its external syndicate of investors with DEP’s limited partners and co-investors. DEP’s principals and investment team are all seasoned veterans with an extensive track record of successfully sourcing, underwriting and structuring investments in the energy sector through multiple cycles. Furthermore, DEP has a robust in-house technical team which provides the cornerstone of our investment process.
The principals of DEP have been active in the oil & gas markets since the early 1980’s and have executed transactions through multiple peak / trough cycles. The principals of DEP have sourced, underwritten, and syndicated over $9.0B of energy industry related assets over the past 30 years. Capitalizing on the extensive industry relationships built by its principals to execute transactions efficiently and effectively for companies in the energy space, DEP has created a world class propriatary sourcing platform with a regional presence.
DEP’s principals have successfully closed over $5.0B in transactions since the formation of MEA in 2003 and over $9.0B of transactions in the energy sector over the course of their careers. In addition, DEP has significant experience in structuring financing packages and providing capital for distressed E&P companies as part of a reorganization, recapitalization or similar restructuring.
DEP’s principals have approximately 85 years of combined transaction experience in the energy sector and have previously held senior positions at leading financial institutions including Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co., EnCap Investments / EnCap Energy Advisors, Bank One Corp., and Morgan Keegan as well as at leading global and domestic oil & gas companies including Chevron Corp. and Union Pacific Resources. The management team of DEP has a long established track record of unique sourcing, thorough underwriting & due diligence, and successful investments.
